The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have divided opinion ever since Baker Mayfield was named the starter, with many not fully confident in what the former No. 1 pick can do.
But back-to-back seasons of great play have Baker leading a team that has won the division twice, and a playoff game, while being a Pro Bowler in his first year before having a career-best season in 2024 (4,500 pass yards, 41 touchdowns, 71.4 completion percentage) in Year 2.
Yet some are still skeptical on Baker and the Buccaneers regarding what they can do in 2025 with a returning Chris Godwin on offense and Haason Reddick joining the defensive ranks.
But we get a good indication of what the collective NFL world thinks of teams when the over/under win total projections are released, and for the Buccaneers, it appears that Todd Bowles’ side has gotten some confidence from the outer NFL world. …
Except that the prediction is short of what Tampa Bay did last year.
Per Yahoo Sports, the Buccaneers’ over/under win total for 2025 is set at 9.5.
The Buccaneers are coming off a 10-win season in 2024 after the team was crippled by injuries on both sides of the ball, but managed to rally late in the year to secure the division and a home playoff game.
With what Bowles hopes to be a healthier roster in 2025, the Buccaneers should rightly be one of the favorites for the NFC South, along with the Atlanta Falcons, and strategizing their way to winning 10 games isn’t a stretch by our estimations.
Of course, the football gods have a knack for intervening at the worst time, but right now, a healthy Tampa Bay side hits the overs here.
