REPORT: Commanders’ latest injury report looks really, really good for Marshon Lattimore’s status vs Bucs.THANHDUNG

The Washington Commanders have only seen coveted cornerback Marshon Lattimore in action for a little over a game-and-a-half since Adam Peters traded for him back in November, but it’s looking like he’s going to be batting 1.000 when it comes to postseason play.

Dec 15, 2024; New Orleans, Louisiana, USA; New Orleans Saints linebacker Demario Davis (56) greets former teammate Washington Commanders cornerback Marshon Lattimore (23) at the end of the game at Caesars Superdome.

That’s because, per the Commanders’ latest injury report, Lattimore has now logged two full practice sessions in a row. This comes after head coach Dan Quinn said he’s been “hitting all the markers” leading up to this week’s game.

Having Lattimore back on the field would obviously be a huge boost for the Commanders secondary and defense as a whole. Especially when considering he’ll probably be lining up across from Mike Evans, who is one of the league’s best receivers, for most of the game. If not all of the game.

Lattimore has been particularly adept at holding Evans to low numbers when they meet. The two have played 12 games against each other since 2017 (including one playoff game) and the former has held the latter to 16 receptions for 309-yards and three touchdowns on 30 targets. At one point, there was a four-game stretch from 2018-2020 where Evans had as many receptions as he did drops, which was two. Also, Lattimore held him catch-less through three of the four games.

Other injury updates

There was some interesting movement in other areas. Both Brandon Coleman and Jeremy Chinn were upgraded from limited participants to full participants, while John Bates and Frankie Luvu were downgraded from full participants to limited. Clelin Ferrell was also upgraded from a non-participant to limited.

The offensive line improvement regarding Coleman is especially good, considering the Bucs’ front seven can really get after it.

In all, it’s a promising injury report and Lattimore’s status is easily the most promising part.
