REPORT: Eagles injury situation: Are Will Hurts and Pickett ready for the big game?-HN

Jalen Hurts was officially listed as a non-participant on the Eagles’ first estimated injury report for Week 17, following a concussion sustained during Sunday’s game against the Commanders. Hurts’ status for the upcoming Cowboys game is now in question, and his availability will be closely monitored throughout the week. In addition to Hurts, backup quarterback Kenny Pickett was listed as a limited participant due to a ribs injury he suffered during the same game.

The Eagles had an off day for Christmas, meaning there was no practice on Wednesday. As a result, the injury report is merely an estimation. The following players were listed as non-participants:

NFL Hall of Famer nêu chi tiết lời khuyên mà anh ấy đã đưa ra cho Jalen Hurts của Eagles khi tham gia Super Bowl | Tin Mới

  • QB Jalen Hurts (left finger/concussion)
  • LB Nakobe Dean (abdomen)
  • RB Will Shipley (concussion)
  • RB Saquon Barkley (rest)
  • G Mekhi Becton (rest)
  • WR AJ Brown (rest)
  • G Landon Dickerson (rest)
  • T Lane Johnson (rest)
  • CB Darius Slay (rest)
  • OLB Josh Sweat (rest)

Limited participants:

  • QB Kenny Pickett (ribs)

Full participants:

  • WR Britan Covey (neck)
  • DE Bryce Huff (wrist)

Pickett underwent X-rays on his ribs after Sunday’s game and required additional testing to begin the week. However, following the game, he expressed no concerns about his status for the next match. If Hurts is unable to clear the concussion protocol, Pickett would likely start as long as his ribs allow. The Eagles’ roster also includes third-string quarterback Tanner McKee, who would have been the only quarterback to fully participate had the team practiced on Wednesday.

Although it is possible for a player to clear the NFL’s concussion protocol within a week, each case is different. Last week, for example, safety Sydney Brown was able to return without missing a game after clearing the protocol. Hurts’ status will become clearer as the week progresses.

Alongside the key players listed with a “rest” designation, Nakobe Dean (abdomen) and Will Shipley (concussion) were also non-participants. Their status will be monitored over the next few days.

Receiver Britan Covey (neck) has missed the last three games due to his injury, with rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean stepping in as the Eagles’ punt returner in his absence.

Bryce Huff, who hasn’t played since the first Washington game, could return on Sunday after undergoing wrist surgery on November 21. Huff’s practice window was opened last week, and his potential return is something the Eagles will watch closely.
