REPORT: Jon Feliciano Announces Retirement – But Ready for a Playoff Comeback If Called!…TS.DHUNG.

Jon Feliciano Announces NFL Retirement—But Leaves the Door Open for a Playoff Comeback

After nearly a decade in the NFL, veteran offensive lineman Jon Feliciano has decided to step away from football. But in classic Feliciano fashion, he’s not closing the book entirely.

The 33-year-old, who spent the entire 2024 season on injured reserve following knee surgery, announced his retirement Thursday. However, in a move that will surely intrigue fans of the San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills, he hinted that a playoff return isn’t off the table.

“The Fire Is Still There”

Feliciano, known for his toughness and leadership, took to social media to share his decision.

“After months of weighing my options, I realized I had to leave the game,” he wrote. “The fire is still there, but I know I can’t last a full season and can’t bring myself to let people down.”

Despite stepping away, he left a clear message for his former teams:

“Being on a team and unable to help out your boys is rough. That being said, Buffalo or SF, I’ll be ready for a playoff run in December if you need me.”

A Journeyman’s Legacy

Feliciano’s NFL career began in 2015 when he was drafted in the fourth round by the then-Oakland Raiders out of Miami. Over nine seasons, he played in 113 games (61 starts) with the Raiders, Bills, New York Giants, and 49ers.

His most memorable stint came in Buffalo (2019-21), where he became a fan favorite.

“Buffalo is a unique place I will always call home,” he wrote. “Thank you, Buffalo, for all the love you showed me, my family, and support staff.”

A Potential Late-Season Wildcard?

While Feliciano is stepping away for now, his willingness to return for a playoff run could be a valuable asset for a contending team. If the 49ers or Bills need depth in the trenches come December, could we see the veteran lineman suit up once more?

Time will tell, but one thing’s for sure—Feliciano’s presence in an NFL locker room will be missed.
