REPORT: Ravens’ Ronnie Stanley Predicted To Bolt For AFC Rival In Free Agency.THANHDUNG

One of the Baltimore Ravens’ best free agents might be headed for one of the NFL’s worst teams.

After another disappointing 12-5 season that ended short of the Super Bowl, Ravens’ general manager Eric DeCosta and head coach John Harbaugh are faced with 20 players hitting the free agent market next month. One of the biggest decisions will involve starting offensive left tackle Ronnie Stanley.

Ravens - Ronnie Stanley

Pro Football Focus tackled that issue this week, and is projecting that Stanley will leave for more money and fewer wins with the New England Patriots. PFF considers Stanley and Kansas City Chiefs’ star Trey Smith as the top tackles available in free agency.

“The Patriots have the cap space ($119 million) to sign any lineman, and the need extends across the entire unit, so there is no reason they shouldn’t pursue the top options,” the sites writes. “Adding both (Trey) Smith and Stanley would check that box and give New England’s front-five a facelift overnight.”

Stanley is 30, and has endured some injury issues recently, missing 36 games over the last five years. However, he played in all 17 games in 2024 and was a Pro Bowler.

The Ravens have just $13 million in cap space this offseason, so they’d probably have to move some money around to re-sign Stanley and fill some of their other holes. After watching journeyman left tackle Vederian Lowe struggle to protect rookie quarterback Drake Maye, the Pats will be aggressively looking to upgrade their offensive line.
