Former head coach-turned-analyst Rex Ryan is fed up with the MVP debate between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. He finally put a full stop to it during ESPN’s GetUp show.

As the NFL regular season approaches its end, the debate on the MVP race has narrowed down to two names: Allen and Jackson. While the former has emerged as the favorite to make the Buffalo Bills frontrunner for the Super Bowl, the superior stats of the Baltimore Ravens quarterback have left many debating which player truly deserves the MVP award more.

However, when the conversation reached the ears of ESPN analyst Ryan, he dismissed the success of the two-time MVP winner by picking Allen as the easy favorite for the grand MVP award. He firmly asserted that Allen is more deserving from every angle over Jackson as the MVP goes beyond individual stats.

While it’s undeniable that the Ravens’ star quarterback is having an incredible season, Allen’s contribution and impact on the Bills’ success this season and pursuit of the No. 1 seed in the AFC can be attributed entirely to the quarterback. That’s what the former Bills coach emphasized by claiming that the Bills wouldn’t be in such a strong position if it wasn’t for Allen – hence, the Most Valuable Player.

Chasing the top seed in the conference, the Bills are approaching the final two games of the season. Their competitor for the AFC title is the Kansas City Chiefs, who are aiming for a historic three-peat with a 14-1 season record. Following the recent victory over the New England Patriots, quarterback Allen discussed his plans for the remaining two games of the 2024 campaign.

If by some miracle, the Chiefs lost both the remaining games of the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos respectively, then the Bills will certainly occupy the first seed. Having said that, they would need to strategize the coming two weeks in such a way as to secure victories while also reserving their strength for the playoffs.
