As the 2025 NFL offseason gets closer, so does the ongoing speculation about players’ futures. One of those players is George Kittle, the tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, George Kittle.

GEORGE KITTLE WILL RETIRE ON THE SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

For Kittle a lot of this speculation started over the span of Super Bowl radio row. For him, his retirement time isn’t too far in the future, so when will he retire with the topic of discussion now in play?

GEORGE KITTLE WILL STILL PLAY IN 2025

While Kittle’s playing window is definitely closing, being he is 31, and turning 32 in October 2025 is still on the table for him to play. Kittle has dealt with numerous injuries throughout his career, especially last season with playing through cracked ribs, but he still accumulated 1,106 yards and eight touchdowns over 78 receptions in just 15 games. This production in 2024 marked back-to-back seasons with 1,000-plus yards.

Kittle may not be as elusive as he used to be, but he is still producing at a high level that doesn’t show signs of him slowing down. Still, with being past the peak age for tight ends and in the range for retirement, the decline is bound to happen soon, and the 49ers will have to start preparing for life after Kittle.

THE 49ERS WILL BE THE TEAM KITTLE RETIRES WITH

With how much of an impact Kittle has made on, and off the field for the 49ers, becoming a true staple of the team, it’s only right for San Francisco to ensure he retires a 49er. Kittle also made vocal comments about wanting to make sure he ends his career in San Francisco when the time comes.

With Kittle approaching the end of his five-year, $75 million deal he signed in 2020, depending on how the 2025 season goes, this could be the option that leads to Kittle retiring as a 49er at the end of the season.
