Pierce, speaking on the Sports Spectrum podcast, described his career as “a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful nine years.”
He signed for the Ravens as an undrafted free agent back in 2016, and became a star from the off, playing in all 16 regular season games in his rookie year.
Pierce moved to the Minnesota Vikings in 2020 – a season he opted out of due to COVID-19, before returning to play in 2021.
He was released by the Vikings in 2022, before returning to the Ravens to see out the rest of his career.
During the nine years, he played 99 games, making 238 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and one interception.
That interception, in a remarkable turn of events, came in his final game. Taking the ball off Cleveland Browns’ quarterback Bailey Zappe, he took a knee before being surrounded by his teammates.
