Buffalo Bills were fined by the NFL for game-related rules violations during their 48-42 victory last Sunday in Detroit, but two Lions are a little lighter in the pocket today.

In fact, the plays for which they were fined happened on the same drive, late in the second quarter, at Ford Field.

The NFL fined Kwon Alexander $6,722 following a roughing the passer penalty, citing a blow to the head and/or neck of Bills quarterback Josh Allen. The 15-yard penalty was tacked on to the end of the play — a 64-yard completion wide receiver Keon Coleman — giving the Bills a first-and-goal from the Detroit 3.

Two plays later, on a second-and-goal from the Detroit 2, Lions safety Brian Branch tackled wide receiver Curtis Samuel short of the goal line. There was no flag on the play, but the NFL fined Branch $10,128 for unsportsmanlike conduct (taunting) six days after making that stop.

That drive ended with a missed 24-yard field goal by Tyler Bass.

The NFL announces player fines every Saturday afternoon during the season. For Week 15, there were 34 plays resulting in fines for on-field discipline during 2,578 total plays.

Bills fines from the NFL this season include:

  • Week 1, O’Cyrus Torrence, unnecessary roughness (facemask), $7,855
