Seahawks fans should be laughing hilariously at latest Deebo Samuel outburst.. – VC

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel is not happy. He shouldn’t be. Due to injuries, his team has been stuck in mediocre for much of the season. Heck, the 49ers even lost to the Seattle Seahawks, a team San Francisco had not lost to since 2021.

San Francisco 49ers v Seattle Seahawks

Samuel has also not had his best season either. He has just two total touchdowns after having 12 in 2023. His targets per game of 5.3 is the lowest of his career. This is partly what led to the wide receiver taking to social media to write a now-deleted post that read, “Not struggling at all just not getting the ball!”

That, of course, means Samuel is struggling one way or another. Maybe not physically or in his relationships with his teammates, but emotionally, he is upset. With the 49ers not having running back Christian McCaffrey for much of the season because he was hurt, the team probably should have gotten the versatile receiver more involved. They haven’t.

Partly because the 49ers have been a shell of what they were when they went to the Super Bowl last season, the Seahawks have risen to the NFC West lead and stand at 8-5 after winning four straight games. San Francisco is 6-7, and while the team still has a mathematical chance to make the postseason, they seem the least likely on any other division team to do so.

After deleting the original post, Samuel added one that read, “Just cause I voice my opinions don’t mean I’m hating on any of my teammates!” He had to respond to the bounty of replies on X/Twitter implying that the receiver was disrespecting his teammates by saying he was not getting the ball more. Samuel also confessed that he was a “little frustrated for sure.”

How long the 49ers overall will continue to be frustrated is anyone’s guess. The team should be good through at least 2025 because many key players, such as Samuel and quarterback Brock Purdy, will be under contract. Beginning in 2026, though, things begin to get expensive.

Seattle’s Week 11 victory over San Francisco could have marked a change in the Seahawks-49ers rivalry, though. Seattle should continue to be even better under head coach Mike Macdonald, and while Seattle is tight against the cap next offseason, things begin to open up after that. The Seahawks could be ascending just as the 49ers are descending.

Samuel might even want to think of signing with the Seahawks in 2026. He might find that he is less frustrated.
