Shocking Fact: Has Jaire Alexander Played His Last Game For The Packers? But Here’s What Should Make Fans Worry!-HN

It would seem as if the marriage between the Green Bay Packers and star cornerback Jaire Alexander has hit rocky waters.

Things have been feeling strange for some time now between the two parties, but a recent report from Rob Demovsky of ESPN suggests that this thing is heading for a breakup.

“There are strong indications that Alexander’s time with the Packers will end without him playing another down. Multiple team sources have privately expressed their frustration with Alexander’s inability to stay healthy and/or play through injuries,” Demovsky wrote.

When Alexander is healthy, he’s one of the best cornerbacks in the league. The problem for the Packers is that he’s played in only 14 of Green Bay’s past 34 games due to injury. It also appears as if there’s a suspicion that he’s not “toughing it out” for the betterment of the team.

If the Packers do let Alexander go, they will save money on the salary cap, but they’ll also have a massive need at cornerback heading into 2025. Former No. 1 overall pick Eric Stokes is a free agent who may not be signed back, and Keisean Nixon is not a CB1, despite his thoughts on the matter.

That makes this upcoming 2025 NFL Draft extremely important for the Packers as it relates to filling this likely need. Green Bay has pick No. 23 and several interesting cornerback targets could be selected at that part of the first round.

There are two names to keep an eye on, who could make sense. One would be Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron, who notched five interceptions and 11 passes defended last season for the Longhorns. The Packers need a playmaker and he’d certainly fit the bill.

Another interesting target would be Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morrison. His draft stock would be higher had he not lost most of his 2024 season with a hip injury, but he notched six interceptions as a true freshman and three in 2023.
