The Green Bay Packers secured standout running back Josh Jacobs in NFL free agency last offseason. Following a year with him leading their backfield, the team is thrilled with their choice.
Jacobs delivered an outstanding season for the Packers in 2024, amassing 1,329 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns across 301 carries, translating to an impressive 4.4 yards per carry. He also made his presence felt in the passing game, snagging 36 receptions for 342 yards and a touchdown.
With such a stellar performance, Jacobs enters the 2025 season as one of the NFL’s elite running backs. Recently, Jacobs shared his thoughts on various subjects, including unveiling the most underrated teammate he has ever played alongside in the NFL.
His choice was unexpected: wide receiver Jakobi Meyers. “The most underrated guy I played with… the one that surprised me the most, especially day-to-day, was Jakobi Meyers,” Jacobs remarked.
“Bro, he’s like that. He had no drops last year. Watching him at practice, he does the hard work without complaining.”
In the 2024 season with the Las Vegas Raiders, Meyers accumulated 87 catches for 1,027 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games. Achieving those stats despite the Raiders’ challenging quarterback situation was remarkable.
At 28, Meyers remains in his prime and will have a more capable quarterback in 2025, as Las Vegas secured Geno Smith through a trade during the NFL offseason. With Jacobs’ strong endorsement, Meyers is set to attract more attention this year.
