In a moving announcement that has touched hearts across the nation, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs and his wife, Mia Doubs, revealed today that they have made a generous donation to the hospital that played a crucial role in saving Romeo’s father’s life.
The donation, which sources confirm amounts to $1.8 million, was given to Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where Romeo’s father, Thomas Doubs, received emergency treatment earlier this year. After suffering a severe stroke, Thomas was rushed to the hospital where a specialized team provided life-saving care and rehabilitation that has since enabled a remarkable recovery.
At a heartfelt press conference, Romeo expressed profound gratitude for the medical staff and shared how the experience has changed his family’s life.
“When my dad was in the hospital, it felt like everything stopped,” Doubs said. “Thanks to the incredible doctors and nurses, he got a second chance. Mia and I wanted to give back to this hospital that gave us hope and saved my dad.”
The donation will be used to support expanded stroke care programs, upgrade medical equipment, and fund community outreach efforts focused on prevention and treatment of neurological conditions.
Mia Doubs added, “We’re committed to helping families in our community get the same care and support that meant so much to us.”
The Packers organization and teammates have voiced their support, praising Romeo’s generosity and leadership off the field. Fans across social media have also rallied behind the couple’s compassionate act.
Romeo Doubs, known for his dedication on the field, has now shown that his heart off the field is just as big.
“This is about family and giving back,” he said simply. “I’m thankful every day that my dad is still here, and we want to help others get that same chance.”
