The Dolphins have added cornerback Ryan “Bump” Cooper Jr. to their roster, claiming him off waivers from the Seahawks, as reported by the team on Monday. Cooper entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2024, initially signing with the Ravens.
Throughout the season, he mainly remained on the practice squad but did participate in one game, contributing six special teams plays against the Browns on October 27. The Ravens released him on November 19, after which the Seahawks brought him onto their practice squad a week later. At the conclusion of the season, Cooper inked a futures contract with Seattle.
During his college tenure at Oregon State, he played in 23 games over two years, amassing 82 tackles, 1.5 sacks, four interceptions, and 22 passes defensed. Before transferring to Oregon State, he was a two-year starter at the College of San Mateo in California.
The NFL hardly has an offseason; instead, it transitions into a different phase. This alternative season kicks off this week with the scouting combine in Indianapolis, where coaches, scouts, and even some team owners gather to assess the next crop of talent.
