Travis Kelce has weighed in on the heated debate over the NFL’s best-ever quarterback, choosing current team-mate Patrick Mahomes over legendary Tom Brady. The Chiefs tight end is set to continue his journey in the playoffs today as Kansas City eyes an extraordinary third consecutive Super Bowl trophy.

Following a stellar regular season with a 15-2 record and the Chiefs breezing past the first round of the playoffs, Kelce turned heads last week in their AFC Championship clash against Houston Texans. The 35-year-old delivered a vintage performance in the 23-14 win that leaves Kansas City one win away from a Super Bowl berth.

In an interview with ESPN’s Chris Berman, the tight end couldn’t help but praise star quarterback Mahomes and labelled him better than NFL icon Tom Brady. “It’s been such a pleasure,” Kelce said. “He’s every bit of a superstar off the field as he is on the field. I consider him family.

“There’s one common denominator from the Chiefs my entire career and that’s Andy Reid, but this thing really took off when Patrick Mahomes got here,” Kelce explained. “I know everybody knows that, but what I see in the building, his leadership, his ability to relate to everybody and motivate everybody, and be accountable, it’s unique, and it’s like nothing else.”

Without hesitation, the tight end looked to settle the quarterback GOAT debate, adding: “He’s the greatest to ever do it. You can’t change my mind, otherwise.”

Despite only being 29 years old, Mahomes has already built an impressive resume since joining the NFL as the 10th overall pick in 2017. The quarterback has won two MVP awards and three Super Bowls, consistently reaching at least the AFC Championship game every season since becoming Kansas City’s starting quarterback in 2018.
