With 3:20 remaining in the second quarter of Sunday’s matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa achieved his 100th career touchdown pass.
Tagovailoa becomes the fourth quarterback in the team’s history to reach 100 touchdown passes, joining the ranks of Dan Marino (420), Bob Griese (193), and Ryan Tannehill (123) in this exclusive group of Miami quarterbacks.
Despite a season shortened by injury, Tagovailoa is on track for several accolades this year, aiming to become the first quarterback in NFL history to maintain a completion rate above 70% in nine consecutive games, surpassing the current record held jointly by Joe Montana and Drew Brees.
Entering the game against the 49ers, Tagovailoa led the league with a completion percentage of 73.7. At just 26 years old and in his fifth season, Tagovailoa has now thrown 100 touchdowns and 44 interceptions.
