UPDATE: Baltimore Ravens SIGNING Odell Beckham Jr. After The Diontae Johnson Drama?.THANHDUNG

The Baltimore Ravens are in the thick of an AFC North battle, with playoffs just around the corner. As tensions rise, fans are buzzing about the potential signing of veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Following the announcement that the Miami Dolphins have released Beckham, speculation is rampant: Should the Ravens make a move for him?

Beckham’s journey has seen him bounce around teams, and while his production has waned in recent years, he had a respectable stint with the Ravens last season, recording 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns. Many fans were pleasantly surprised by his performance, considering the doubts surrounding his ability to contribute after significant knee surgery.

Despite this, the question remains: Should the Ravens take a chance on signing Beckham? There are several factors to consider. First, Beckham has not reached the 1,000-yard mark since 2019, and his 2024 stats reflect a troubling trend with only nine catches for 55 yards. Moreover, the Ravens’ wide receiver room has faced its share of drama, particularly with the recent Deontay Johnson situation. This instability could deter the front office from adding another potential wildcard like Beckham.

However, there are compelling arguments for signing him. Beckham is familiar with the Ravens’ offensive system, which would allow for a smoother transition without a lengthy learning curve. He also has established chemistry with the team, which could enhance on-field performance. Additionally, the cost to sign him is minimal—around $500,000—making it a low-risk investment.

Ultimately, while the Ravens may be hesitant due to past experiences with free agent wide receivers, the potential benefits of signing Beckham could outweigh the risks. If I were in the Ravens’ front office, I would seriously consider making the call to Beckham as soon as possible.
