The Dallas Cowboys are considering adding a dynamic player to complement CeeDee Lamb on their offensive lineup. They might discover such a talent early in the upcoming NFL Draft, possibly by selecting a tight end.

Although mock drafts frequently associate the Cowboys with choosing a receiver to pair with Lamb, Pro Football Focus’ Mason Cameron surprisingly suggested they might opt for Penn State tight end Tyler Warren with the 12th overall pick. “Dallas needs playmakers across their offense, and here they have a decision between Matthew Golden and Tyler Warren,” Cameron remarked.

“While either would be a wise choice, Warren offers a distinct playmaking ability that could transform this offense. With Jake Ferguson currently on the roster and nearing the end of his contract, Dallas can diversify their offensive strategies after having one of the lowest 12 personnel rates (10.8%) in 2024, partly due to a lack of talent in that area.”

Finding a tight end as adaptable as Warren will be challenging. Last season, he amassed 1,451 yards from scrimmage, leading the Big Ten with 104 catches and scoring eight touchdowns through receptions. Additionally, he contributed significantly on the ground, racking up 218 rushing yards along with four rushing touchdowns.

For a player of Warren’s caliber, the Cowboys might overlook positional needs. Incorporating him into the offense would greatly benefit Dak Prescott, even if Warren isn’t a traditional receiver. He would still exert pressure on opposing defenses, creating more opportunities for Lamb to shine.
