UPDATE: Dan Campbell of the Lions describes the special challenge presented by Jayden Daniels in four words-HN

This past weekend, the Washington Commanders surprised the Detroit Lions by defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This set the stage for a Saturday night matchup between the Washington Commanders and rookie star Jayden Daniels.

The Lions have an opportunity to make amends for their 1991 41-10 loss to the then-Washington Redskins in the NFC Championship Game, which came before last season.

Fans are hoping for a big victory over the Commanders this weekend because of coach Dan Campbell’s team’s “Super Bowl or bust” mentality, even though that game cost the Lions a trip to the Super Bowl.

Campbell was questioned on Monday regarding the Lions’ alleged difficulties stopping running quarterbacks.

When asked about it, Lions beat reporter Kory Woods shared his four-word response on X.

“Tell me who does (handle running quarterbacks well),” according to reports, Campbell said.

In the NFC Championship Game in San Francisco last season, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy gained 48 yards on five carries from the Lions.

The Lions will have many advantages against the Commanders, including playoff experience, as they try to stop one of the most dynamic young players to hit the league in years. They will also have a boisterous home crowd at Ford Field in downtown Detroit and the recent return of speedy linebacker Alex Anzalone.

Rams mock Lions’ Dan Campbell with a six-word post following their playoff victory against the Vikings

At the time, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell was unaware that he had inadvertently provided the Los Angeles Rams with significant motivational material following his team’s decisive 31-9 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 18. This triumph secured the NFC North title, the top seed, and home-field advantage in the NFC.

As Campbell extended his embrace to Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell following the conclusion of the game, he remarked to the third-year coach, “I shall see you in two weeks,” indicating his confidence that the Vikings would prevail over the Rams in their wild-card contest during Detroit’s bye week.

However, the Rams may have caused Campbell to reconsider his previous statements following their decisive 27-9 victory over the Vikings on Monday night in Arizona (the game was relocated from Los Angeles due to the ongoing wildfires). This outcome has established a divisional-round matchup between the Lions and the Washington Commanders for the upcoming week, while the Rams will journey to Philadelphia to face the Eagles.

The players of the Rams indicated that they utilised Campbell’s comments as a source of motivation in preparation for the upcoming matchup on Monday. Furthermore, their social media team seized the opportunity to engage in light-hearted mockery of Campbell shortly after their victory.

In a manner reminiscent of the SpongeBob narrator, the Rams announced on their X account, “One Week Later.”

Although the Rams’ tweet may be perceived as trivial, the comment section accompanying the post was similarly acrimonious, with numerous fans directing criticism at Campbell for his remarks that have not aged well.

“sEe YoU iN 2 wEekS ,” one fan wrote.

“Until we meet again in two weeks,” commented another enthusiast.

“One user expressed a strong disapproval of Dan Campbell.”
