With so many injuries along the Houston Texans’ offensive line, former Pittsburgh Steelers draft pick Kendrick Green is getting a chance to show what he can do with the Texans. Shaq Mason suffered a grade 2 MCL sprain, and with another young interior player in Juice Scruggs battling a foot injury, that gave Green the gate to come in and play at guard. He and Tytus Howard are the starting guards with so many injuries piling up.
Green started against the Baltimore Ravens and was the second-highest-graded player for the Texans coming out of that game.
The Steelers’ 2021 third-round pick out of Illinois, Kendrick Green, was drafted to be a center, but Houston has moved him back to guard in hopes of getting more out of him than the Steelers were able to in his first two seasons. Pittsburgh traded Green in August of 2023, pulling the plug on what they believed was a failed draft pick after a disappointing first two seasons.
