UPDATE: Huge update on pregnant Brittany Mahomes after Patrick was caught up in Chiefs travel chaos…TS.DHUNG.

Brittany Mahomes will be induced on Monday if she hasn’t given birth before then, it has been revealed.

NFL insider Tracy Wolfson made the revelation while explaining on X that Brittany’s husband, Chiefs quarterback Patrick, was especially relieved to make it back to Kansas City after travel mayhem disrupted the Chiefs on the road to Denver Broncos at the weekend.

The Chiefs quarterback didn’t even play with head coach Andy Reid opting to rest his key men before the playoffs but Mahomes still traveled as Carson Wentz started in the 38-0 loss.

Mahomes and the Chiefs were delayed by snow and ice leaving Kansas City and again trying to get out of Denver before eventually returning late on Monday afternoon. As soon as they touched down, Mahomes made a swift return to his heavily pregnant wife.

And according to NFL insider Wolfson, it was a tense trip back for Patrick as the couple await the arrival of a baby girl, their third child.

‘No one happier to get back to KC than Patrick Mahomes,’ she wrote on X.

‘He told me his wife Brittany is due to give birth to their 3rd child on Sunday. If she doesn’t give birth by then she will be induced Monday. There was def extra motivation for Patrick to get that bye week!’

Brittany giving birth this week avoids any difficult decision for Patrick with the playoffs on the horizon.

The Chiefs had locked in the AFC’s No. 1 seed by beating the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day, ensuring they have home field advantage in the playoffs and crucially for the Mahomes family, a week off to allow them to focus on the arrival of a new baby instead of football.

Speaking before that Christmas Day game, Mahomes said he was ready to welcome his third child at any moment.

‘Any day now,’ Mahomes said. ‘Brittany says I have been stressing her out too much this season so I got to try and not put so much stress on her through these football games and get the bye.’

And speaking after the 29-10 victory, Mahomes added: ‘I told her I was gonna get her the number one seed so we can go have that baby. So we got that number one seed.’

But for the 29-year-old Mahomes, his attention will have to be split between his new arrival and the NFL playoffs over the next month, with the Chiefs in pursuit of an historic third straight Super Bowl title.

They will play the winner of Houston Texans against Los Angeles Rams on the weekend of January 18-19 at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Super Bowl is Feb. 9 in New Orleans.
