UPDATE: Jason Kelce thinks the NFL should add one particular stat after Josh Allen’s impressive lateral touchdown.TS.THANHDUNG

Josh Allen left everybody speechless in the Buffalo Bills’ big win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 13.

On 1st and goal from the six yard line, Allen threw a quick pass to Amari Cooper, who brought the ball in. Before the receiver could get very far, defenders surrounded him up.

Jason Kelce speaks about Josh Allen's lateral touchdown on his New Heights podcast with Travis Kelce.

However, Allen was quick to notice that and stayed with the play. So, Cooper lateraled the ball back to Allen, who went around the edge and dove for the pylon, scoring a touchdown.

Considering they have a football podcast, Jason and Travis Kelce had to talk about this incredible moment on the latest episode of their New Heights podcast.

And Jason’s reaction was perfect.

“That’s pretty cool,” he simply said.

He’s not wrong.

However, this also led to a longer discussion between the two brothers about how the NFL should consider adding a new statistic.

“Should they start giving (assists),” the older Kelce brother asked. “This should be a version of an NFL assist right? He assisted the play.”

But Travis kept things real.

“The thing is, I don’t think it happens enough for them to even create a category for it,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end said.

That didn’t change Jason’s mind. He still wants the NFL to implement this.

“But you could do this now even when people pitch the ball in the backfield, like on a reverse or something like that,” he said. “I feel like it needs to be tracked. This should not go unaccounted for in the stat category.’
