UPDATE: Lions finally get some great news for 2025 coaching staff.THANHDUNG

The Detroit Lions will have to replace both coordinators this offseason, as Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn have landed head coaching gigs after terrific tenures in Detroit. Johnson officially became the next head coach of the Chicago Bears on Tuesday, while Aaron Glenn accepted the New York Jets head coaching vacancy on Wednesday.

Along with losing Johnson and Glenn, the Lions may also need to replace some position coaches on the staff. One of the team’s most valuable assistant coaches is offensive line coach Hank Fraley. The 47-year-old has been with Detroit since 2018 and has been the head offensive line coach since 2020.

The Lions’ offensive line has flourished under Fraley over the last few seasons, which has led to the Maryland native receiving some offensive coordinator interest around the league. Fraley has had two interviews with the Seattle Seahawks for their vacant offensive coordinator role, and the Lions coach has also been connected to the Bears due to the recent hiring of Johnson as head coach.

Though Fraley is a popular offensive coordinator candidate, the Robert Morris standout isn’t going anywhere. According to Detroit Football Network’s Justin Rodgers, Fraley is staying with the Lions for the 2025 season. Additionally, the former NFL offensive lineman is being promoted to run game coordinator and will keep his role as offensive line coach, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Fraley’s wife also confirmed the news that they are staying in Detroit.

This is obviously massive news for the Lions, as Fraley is one of the best offensive line coaches in the NFL and could also be a potential candidate for the team’s offensive coordinator role.
