The NFL just cannot stop fining the Detroit Lions. They just seem to love it. The running total has to be somewhere in the too thousands. Brian Branch is at just over $50k himself.
This week the shoe is on the other foot. Jameson Williams got flagged for this moment right here.
What the video doesn’t show is that Stevenson, who didn’t bat the ball out of his way despite showing in Week 8 that he’s good at batting balls, trips Williams on purpose.
Well, Stevenson has been fined $19,697.00 for that trip and Williams will incur no fine. The NFL is giving Williams some sweet justice here and Stevenson has to pay for being a bad sport.
The penalty proved top be costly to the Lions. They were unable to recover from the loss of yards and then Jake Bats missed his first kick of the year. The Lions ultimately won the game becasue the Bears made a bigger mistake, but this was a rough one for sure.
Williams, totally unsolicited, got up in front of his team after the game and apologized in a moment that really displayed some of the growth he’s been going through.
