The Buffalo Bills are set to host the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional round on Sunday. For such a big game, they called upon former Bills quarterback and fan-favorite Ryan Fitzpatrick to get the crowd going.
The Bills announced that “Fitzy” will be back in Buffalo this weekend to be honored as the ‘Legend of the Game’.
Fitzpatrick played for nine teams over his 17-year career, but he spent the most time (four seasons) in Buffalo, which he considers “home.”
He started 53 games with the Bills from 2009 to 2012, throwing for over 11,000 yards and 80 touchdowns.
“I’m really excited about the opportunity,” Fitzpatrick said. “I love the fanbase in Buffalo, and it’s a place where I’ve always felt like I’ve been at home. I loved Kyle Williams… seeing him with all his family doing it last week… and I can’t wait for the opportunity this week to get everybody fired up.”
On living in Buffalo, Fitzpatrick said, “We lived in the Southtowns, so we had great neighbors, and have always just felt a deep connection to Buffalo.”
Prior to kickoff, Fitzpatrick will be tasked with pumping up Bills Mafia with the ‘Shout Song’ accompanied by Marv Levy’s “Where else would you rather be than right here, right now?”
He might just be crazy enough to rip his shirt off for it. It wouldn’t be the first time.
