UPDATE: Steelers free agent pitch lands projected $50 million receiver in Pittsburgh.THANHDUNG

The Pittsburgh Steelers will likely be in the market for a wide receiver this offseason, as the team lacked reliable and productive players at the position in 2024 outside of George Pickens.

General manager Omar Khan could look to add another playmaker to the offense in April’s draft, but The 33rd Team’s Ian Valentino believes Pittsburgh is a potential landing spot for Washington Commanders wide receiver Dyami Brown.

Valentino predicts Brown will land a three-year deal worth $50 million with $18 million guaranteed on the open market.

“Brown’s downfield explosiveness and youth (25 years old) are huge positives in a market flooded with aged veterans on the downswing,” Valentino wrote. “With speed being a constant premium, Brown is the perfect player that teams can offer a huge contract filled with fake money that only conveys performance-based incentives. Think of Gabe Davis’ deal with Jacksonville as a reference.”

“Brown’s age and skill set means he’ll be an early priority for contending and rebuilding teams alike,” Valentino added.

Though Brown had an inconsistent regular season in 2024, as he hauled in just 30 receptions for 308 yards and one touchdown, the 2021 third-round pick broke out in the playoffs, totaling a postseason-high 229 receiving yards in three games with 14 catches and one touchdown.

Brown would be a savvy add from Khan, as the former North Carolina standout is finally reaching his potential and would bring some much-needed speed and juice to Pittsburgh’s offense.

Valentino’s $50 million contract projection for Brown is definitely on the higher end, as Spotrac predicts the 25-year-old will sign a one-year deal worth $1.9 million. The Steelers are estimated to have around $40 million in cap space this offseason, so the franchise should have enough money to meet Brown’s contract demands, which analysts have differing opinions on.

Overall, Pittsburgh needs to add more explosiveness to an offense that was lackluster in 2024. Though Dyami Brown isn’t an elite receiver, he’s an ascending playmaker with the potential to develop into a lethal deep threat for the Steelers.
