UPDATE: Texans Claim Diontae Johnson; Chargers Sign Eddie Jackson.THANHDUNG

Diontae Johnson will be back on the same field as the Ravens, only this time on the opposite sideline.

Johnson was claimed by the Houston Texans Monday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, after he was released by Baltimore on Friday last week.

The Texans were looking for wide receiver help after Tank Dell went down with a season-ending knee injury Saturday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

It remains to be seen whether Johnson would suit up against the Ravens considering he’ll presumably join the Texans just a day before the two teams meet in Houston. If he does play, it would likely be in a limited role.

Johnson had one catch for six yards as a Raven after being acquired via trade before the deadline.

He was suspended by the team for one game after refusing to enter Baltimore’s game against the Eagles. He and the Ravens then mutually agreed to excuse him from team activities during the following Steelers week.

In addition to Dell’s injury, the Texans also lost Stefon Diggs to a torn ACL earlier this season. Behind leading wide receiver Nico Collins (909 receiving yards) is John Metchie III (182 yards) and veteran Robert Woods (143 yards). In Houston, Johnson could step into a larger role than the one he had in Baltimore.

Another former Raven, safety Eddie Jackson, also landed with a new team Tuesday, as the Los Angeles Chargers signed him to their practice squad. The Chargers now have eight former Ravens on their roster.
