UPDATING: Amari Cooper Signs Back With Dallas Cowboys in 2025 Free Agency -bb

After being traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Buffalo Bills, Amari Cooper is set to hit 2025 NFL Free Agency. As he gets set to enter his 11th season, the options in free agency will be limited, but he may luck out with a less than stellar free agency class for the wide receiver position.

For Cooper, his best option in free agency may be to end up signing back with a team he spent four seasons with. That team is the Dallas Cowboys.

Cowboys news: Amari Cooper could be the first big domino to fall for the Cowboys - Blogging The Boys

Cooper is coming off a season in which he accumulated 588 yards and four touchdowns over 50 receptions between the Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills. While it was a decrease in production from what he had seen a year before with 1,309 yards and five touchdowns, he also went from a struggling Browns’ offense to a Bills’ offense that had plenty of other wide receivers for Josh Allen to target.

With being just 30 years old, Cooper still has some productive seasons ahead of him that should be attractive to a team in free agency.

Cooper, over his four seasons in Dallas, had 292 catches for 3,839 yards and 27 touchdowns over 56 games played. He showed he could be productive with Dak Prescott already, and with having a new head coach now in Brian Schottenheimer, having a veteran receiver like Cooper would help make things flow easier on the offensive side of the ball.

Not to mention, the Cowboys also must address the wide receiver position in whichever way they can. CeeDee Lamb is the top option, but outside of him, Dallas doesn’t truly have anyone. With Prescott coming off his season-ending injury, he will need receivers he can rely on to make plays with the ball in their hands, something the Cowboys have lacked and has hindered the offense in recent seasons.

With Cooper projected to get a $28 million contract over the span of two seasons, he would be a moderately cost-effective receiver for Dallas to add while also banking on the factor that he has produced with the team before. This is also ideal for Cooper to show the 2024 season was just a fluke, and he can still provide value to end his career.
