During the second half of Thursday’s game at Detroit, Bears quarterback Caleb
Williams tried to fake a player instead of going out of bounds, and he paid the price
for it with a vicious hit to his lower extremities.
His left knee buckled, and it initially looked like he might have suffered a significant
knee injury. Fortunately, Williams would be checked out and returned to the game
without missing an offensive snap.
After the game, Caleb Williams made it known he was not a fan of the hit he took
from Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell.
“Um, knees fine,” Williams told reporters vig Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.
“Yeah, I—that play was funky. Just pi at way. | don’t really—you know, |
didn’t really appreciate the play. He just kind of dove straight at my knee. So |
didn’t really get that. Definitely kind of frustrated about that one, just cause
you know, whatever. Yeah, knee’s good. Nothing wrong with it. Think I just got
a bruise. Caleb Williams may not have liked the hit, but it most certainly legal. When a
quarterback becomes a runner, a hit at or below the knee is legal.

Campbell will not and should not face any punishment.

The Bears lost the game, 23-20, and dropped their sixth consecutive game.
Caleb Williams And The Chicago Bears Lose
Thanksgiving Game In T Most Frustrating Way
The Chicago Bears had a chance to tie the game against the Lions and chose to
screw everything vp instead.

The Bears lost after the Williams-led offense let the clock run out instead of using
the team’s last timeout on a third down.

Caleb Williams finished the night with 20 completions on 39 attempts for 256 yards
and three touchdowns.

Chicago has lost six in a row after starting the season 4-2.
