Cowboys owner Jerry Jones thought the Texans game will go without any drama but his own AT&T Stadium stirred trouble after a part of the roof fell down before kickoff.

The AT&T Stadium remains the center of attention for many events, especially for Jerry Jones’ beloved Dallas Cowboys. However, it has only attracted negative publicity in the last couple of weeks.

Jones and his group installed and then did additional work on the stadium’s retractable roof. For the first time in two years, they decided to open it during a Cowboys game before kickoff, which did not go according to plan.

As Jerry and EVP Stephen Jones settled down in the VIP suit to watch the roof open, but to their horror, a loose part that hung from one of the sides fell down on the ground, close to where the cheerleaders went through their pre-game routine.

Senior NFL reporter for Prime Video, Albert Breer, shared a video on X of the falling debris.

According to Breer, the Cowboys’ PR Team decided to close the roof due to safety concerns. The Athletic’s Jon Machota backed up the report through a different post.

Arlington has hosted various big events. From Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in April 2023 to a once-in-a-lifetime Jake Paul-Mike Tyson boxing match, the establishment has entertained the residents of Arlington, Texas.

However, they have been left disappointed time and again while watching the Cowboys. Unlike the previous year, the Dallas team hasn’t won a single game at home.

On week 10, they welcomed divisional rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles, which they lost 34-6. The scoreline is misleading to a degree. Mike McCarthy’s side could have easily cut down the lead if wide receiver CeeDee Lamb managed to hold on to a touchdown pass from Cooper Rush. Unfortunately, the sunlight peering into the AT&T Stadium blinded Lamb, and he missed the ball completely.

Jerry Jones faced ample heat on social media for the missed touchdown, but the Cowboys owner defended himself and the stadium’s layout.

Before the Paul vs. Tyson bout, the Cowboys’ PR made sure to fix the situation. The best solution they could find was to cover the open areas with black curtains. However, those were nowhere to be seen during Monday’s prime-time fixture.
