It was an interesting weekend for Buffalo Bills’ edge rusher Von Miller. He earned a healthy payday by recording a sack against Patriots’ rookie quarterback Drake Maye, earning a $1.5 million contract incentive.
On Sunday night, the Denver Broncos got a big victory over the Kansas City Chiefs to punch their ticket to the postseason. In doing so, the Broncos will travel to Buffalo this coming Sunday.
For Miller, it’ll be a reunion against the team that he spent a majority of his career making a name for himself with. Miller took to Instagram to point out the upcoming reunion, captioning his post “full circle.”
The last time the Denver Broncos were in the postseason was the year Miller helped them win Super Bowl 50. Miller earned Super Bowl 50 MVP with five tackles, one assist, 2.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles, including the infamous play where Cam Newton decided not to jump on a loose ball.
Miller’s tenure in Denver concluded with 110.5 sacks in 10 seasons, and put him on his Hall of Fame trajectory.
Injuries and age have taken a toll on Miller, but he still has plenty of burst and knowledge to make an impact off the edge. Now, he serves as a rotational edge in obvious passing situations, but it’s been clear this season that, when healthy, he still has juice to make an impact.
As if Miller needs any extra motivation, going against his former team in the playoffs should give him an added boost. Miller will have his ears pinned back against rookie quarterback Bo Nix in Highmark Stadium, and will hope to give Bills Mafia something to cheer about on Sunday.
