The Buffalo Bills traded Stefon Diggs, a much more polished receiver, alongside a sixth-round pick in exchange for a second-round pick. If the 49ers hope to secure a fourth-round pick for Samuel, they may have to package an additional asset to sweeten the deal.

His $15 million option is due on March 22, putting pressure on the team to either find a trade partner or consider releasing him outright.
