New York, NY — What was supposed to be a relaxing, team-bonding Thanksgiving dinner hosted by newly signed star Cody Bellinger has turned into a full-blown investigation, after four Yankees players were rushed to the hospital with suspected food poisoning.
The private dinner, held at Bellinger’s upscale Manhattan loft and catered by a luxury event team, took a dark turn just hours after the meal when several players began experiencing intense symptoms — forcing emergency medical crews to respond on-site.
Team officials have confirmed that the players are recovering and expected to be fine, but the circumstances surrounding the incident have raised serious eyebrows.
The shocker?
One of the chef’s assistants — brought in last minute by the catering company — is a known lifelong Yankees fan, and now the focus of an internal MLB investigation after reports surfaced that he had previously posted memes mocking Bellinger’s time with the Dodgers and Cubs.
“The food looked great. The vibes were amazing,” one source close to the team said. “Then dudes started dropping like it was flu season in July.”
Witnesses say the assistant was “acting weirdly proud” of the stuffing and insisted everyone try it. Ironically, the stuffing is now believed to be the possible source of contamination.
MLB released a statement Monday morning:
“We are aware of the incident and are conducting a full internal review. Player safety remains our top priority.”
Bellinger, visibly shaken but cooperative, posted a story that read simply:
“Just wanted to bring the squad together. Didn’t expect the stuffing to take us out 😔🙏”
So far, no formal charges have been filed, but the catering company has been suspended from team-related events, and Yankees security is reviewing footage from the night.
Meanwhile, Red Sox fans had a field day on social media, with one viral post reading:
“Only the Yankees could injure themselves with side dishes.”
Developing story…
