Josh Allen hopes to continue a new Bills’ tradition with an unusual origin story on Sunday against the Ravens..ANHTRUC.

The vibes have been beautiful for the Bills this season. It’s a group that has gelled together, that is playing cohesive football, that has far surpassed whatever any outside voice (myself included) thought their ceiling might be this season, and quarterback Josh Allen has taken his game to an entirely different level.

Vibes matter. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. For Buffalo, a new tradition that keeps the vibes flowing started this season during home games — playing “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers when the team has pretty much put opponents away.

Allen likes the tradition so much that it’s a goal of his for this weekend’s playoff game against the Ravens.

“Our goal is to get to the fourth quarter and have ‘Mr. Brightside’ be playing,” Allen said. “I know the fans love that, but that gives us such a little shot of energy that we’re going to need going into this game.”

There’s never a set time for when the song gets played, as Allen confirmed.

“No, I don’t know when they play it. I know it’s usually in the fourth quarter, though. It gets the people going.”

No one knows what it means, but it’s provocative.

The tradition of playing “Mr. Brightside” got started when the song came on at Bills tight end Dawson Knox’s wedding last summer, with a video emerging of center Connor McGovern, left tackle Dion Dawkins, and Allen joining Knox for a rousing sing-along of the classic song.

The Bills have done plenty of winning at home lately, something they hope to continue this weekend. Including their Wild Card win against the Broncos, the Bills are a perfect 8-0 at home this season. Excluding last year’s home playoffs loss to the Chiefs, and the Bills haven’t lost at home since Week 10 of last season. For Allen and the Bills, looking to move past the Divisional Round to face either the Chiefs or the Texans in the AFC Championship Game, they hope to hear “Mr. Brightside” play at least one more time.
