Austin Metcalf was stabbed to death by Karmelo Anthony during an altercation at a high school track meet in Texas Wednesday morning following a disagreement over seating with Karmelo Anthony.
Frisco Police confirmed the student-athlete died “despite lifesaving measures.”
Metcalf was stabbed and killed by Anthony after he allegedly became enraged over being told he was sitting in the wrong seat prior to the alteration.
Austin’s parents and twin brother spoke to the media Thursday, remembering him as “the most amazing kid.”
Jeff Metcalf told NBC5 that his sons didn’t know the person who’d allegedly stabbed Austin.
Days later, Andrew Anthony, the father of teenage murder suspect Karmelo Anthony, has decided to break his silence and reveal Austin Metcalf and his friends were the ones who started Wednesday’s altercation in Frisco, Texas, that ended in tragedy.
“He was not the aggressor,” Anthony insisted. “He was not the one who started it.”
Metcalf’s brother, Hunter, is on video stating that his twin brother was heard telling Anthony to move from the seat, to which Anthony responded, “Make me move.”
Hunter added that Austin grabbed his backpack, and things escalated from there.
Andrew stated that he is heartbroken by the entire thing but made it clear his son is “a good kid.”
“Everyone has already made their assumptions about my son,” he said, “but he’s not what they’re making him out to be.”
“He works two jobs. He’s an A student, has a 3.7 GPA.”
